Delta Electronics to Acquire Japan’s Noda RF to Boost Semiconductor Power Solutions

Taiwan-based Delta Electronics, Inc. announced that it will acquire Noda RF Technologies Co., Ltd., a Japan-based company that makes RF power supply systems used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Noda RF specializes in RF power supplies used in chip-making processes like plasma etching and thin-film deposition, essential in building integrated circuits that help generate the high-frequency power needed for advanced semiconductor production.

According to Delta, the acquisition will enhance its portfolio of power solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company also stated it plans to combine Noda RF’s RF power technology with Delta’s strength in power management and automation to create new, integrated solutions for chip production tools.

Through its Dutch subsidiary, Delta will purchase a 90.23% stake in Noda RF for US$33 million. Once the deal is complete, Delta will own 100% of Noda RF. Delta has been expanding its presence in the semiconductor supply chain amid rising global demand for chips driven by AI, EVs, and data center growth.

RF power systems are a niche but vital part of semiconductor equipment, and gaining direct control over this technology could help Delta improve performance and reduce dependence on third-party suppliers.
